Okie Doug,

Alex here, I got a Copland CTA-505 too and biased it 3 months ago with Svetlana 6550Cs with the help of a very nice guy on the net, so heres my chance to help. ;-)

The Copland has 4 resistors that are brown just above the blue bias pots. Connect ground of Multimeter to ground..... then the other will goto the LEFT part of the brown resistor LEG..... Then try biasing up to 52mV - 54mV....... the sound will be okie! If ya wanna be safer, just turn the blue bias pots FULLY COUNTER CLOCKWISE!!!! I recieved instructions from Jan-Erik too!

Then bias the tubes to about 52mV...... Then go back, recheck all the values again, coz the biaising will kinda run away...... then after 1 month, recheck values again.....

If you not too sure can mail me and ask! :-)

Cheers! :-)

BTW, I use the 1 pair Amperex Bugle Boys 12AX7s and 2 pairs of RCA 12AU7As..... what are you using, Doug?
