Agree with whats been said about checking with the manufacturer or dealer as to the current draw from an e80cc as apposed to a 12au7.In my tube pre which has 2 12au7's it's OK to use the e80cc and it sounds great! However,in my system the e80cc is a bit too aggressive so I use a 12bh7 and a Brimar 13d5.Learn what your pre can accept and experiment.That's part of the fun!!
