I have an old amp...a Heathkit AA-151 and the 5ar4 went south.
If the 5ar4 was original (I think), that makes it 40 years old +\-.
The 5ar4 was a Realistic "lifetime" tube. I figure, what the heck, I'll email rat shack and see if they will honor the "lifetime" guarantee. SO, I do...they sent me an email saying to send my name,
address and phone number and they will look into replacing the tube.
What are the odd they will honor a 40 year old guarantee?
1 in 10?
50-50?
No chance?
Am I a dink for even asking?!
I will let you know what happens.
