I see the tube store is selling a version of the 6H8C for about $100/ea, while others, that look vastly different, for $10 or so. So, there must be a big difference in these tubes in terms sound quality and reliability. But in general, I don't see many sources. There are just a few on Ebay. Upscale Audio appears to have some, too.
Anyone got any good advice on these tubes, such as: which models sound best and last the longest; where to get them; and how much one should expect to pay?
I understand "the best" of them sound quite good.
