The following link shows a schematic that is the basis for an amplifier I have been fooling around with:

http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~hp6y-isym/3S4_AMP.htm

I decided to go with the 3s4 output tubes because the plate current is under 10ma at 45-50v. My local shop had a pair of 3s4 and 1u4 tubes for me to try out. They seem to be the safest choice available. I made a battery powered version of the amplifier described above using five 9v batteries for the plates and AA's for the heaters and bias. It runs forever and sounds sort of good. The output power is very low. I am thinking of trying paralleled output tubes. I have built the schematic in the link above and experimented with different circuit arrangements and component values.

I would be nice to have some advice on the schematic in the link. I will be using 9v and AA batteries to power the amplifier. I would like to make sure I am not making any big mistakes before I order the parts and tubes.

Thanks
