A while back i posted here at the asylum - http://db.audioasylum.com/cgi/m.mpl?forum=tubediy&n=35780. If you follow the post, you will see that KYW actually made a design as a reply to my post.

My first attempt was to make a non-ultrapath version of it sometime back. It did sound good, and was in a prototype chassis for several weeks. A few days ago, i disassembled it and made another version.
Here is the latest incarnation of the amplifier KYW so graciously designed and I hope that others will benefit from this too.

The tube complements include a pair (not same structure though) of Cunningham CX-345 that i got for $150, a pair of Amperex gold pins 5842, and a Sylvania 5AR4.

The output transformers are a pair of Tamura F-475, the most i can afford :)

I was not able to mirror the design of KYW, due to lack of parts.

The power supply is about 375V which is off by 11V from the original posted design. It is configured as 380-0-380 -> Solen 10uF 630V -> Tamura A-395 choke -> 47uF 500V (x 2) Audio Professor capacitor.

I used 4 x 220R carbon resistors in each grid pin of the 5842. The ultrapath cap (recommended 22uF) is now a 20uF oil capacitor, and the cathode bypass cap (recommended 68uF film) is a 68uF electrolytic :( my cathode resistor is still white coffin (ducking for cover), i'm working on it :)

I found out that the Audio Professor dual 47uF actually measures out-of-circuit 65uF, which is probably an able replacement for the current Panasonic 68uF TSHA capacitor.

I still have a pair of Solen 47uF 630V that i'm figuring out where best to use in this circuit.
