Mikael Shabani is the actual designer of many of the Morel products, especially the tweeters. His firm, Morel Acoustics, in Brookline, Mass is a legitmate supplier of USA-made Morel drivers.While I do not know the patent status, I personally saw too much variation in the Israeli-made tweeters, and I understand there was (perhaps not IS) a dispute between the two firms. The Shabani-series, I believe was aimed at the car market (could be mistaken). Parts Express is wise not to reveal their suppliers- they are a good firm in which the diy'er can trust.
