Dear Scott,

from a Telefunken application note (late 1950ies):

EL34 SE-Pentode:

B+ = 265V
Ua = 250V
Ug2 = 265V
Ia0 = 100mA
Ia = 105mA
Ig2 = 29mA
Ug1 = -14.5V
Ug1~= 8.7Veff
Rg2 = 0 Ohms
Ratr= 2000 Ohms
N~ = 11W
dist= 10%

EL34 SE-Triode:

B+ = 375V
Uag2= 350V
Ia0 = 70 mA
Ia = 74 mA
Ug1 = -26V
Ug1~= 18.9Veff
Rag2= 150 Ohms
Rk = 370 Ohms
Ratr= 3000 Ohms
N~ = 6W
dist= 8%

Take your pick - the triode distorst a bit less, the pentode delivers more power, and both run _very_ hot. Do not use Chinese or EI EL34...

Best regards,
