I just want to comment that you may have noticed I no longer participate extensively in this subject matter... This is in my opinion a philosophical difference in evaluating audio that is not worth losing sleep over.

I see valid points both ways, and I say- Why get into a tizzy because one claims to hear differences that cannot be sustantiated with testing/measurements, or because one claims the differences do not exist based on testing/measurements and money is being blown needlessly?

As far as I'm concerned, no two people in audio have the exact same ideas and methods in attaining sonic satisfaction (or even how equipment should sound), and if one attains satisfaction, no matter what methods are used, and no matter how much is spent, that is all that matters.

Or in other words, whether one hears differences and blows ten grand on mpingo disks and cable risers, or religiously uses DBT exclusively in evaluation, that is *his* business, not yours or mine. I think a lot of us are being too "co-dependent" upon others in the way they approach the hobby. And it goes both ways.

And in regard to design, it is the same thing. Some will claim their designs are superior based on subjective listening, others will claim their designs aresuperior based on painstaking tests and measurements. Yet others will claim their designs are superior based on a combination of the two methods. Once again, if one likes the product he puts out, and he sells product, and makes a good business, and the customers are happy, that's the bottom line.
