Naturally, the difference between single and double blind testing is that the *tester* (he or she who makes the swap) is either aware or not aware of the components changed. The presumption is that the tester would provide some non-verbal cues to reveal the nature of the DUT. For tests I've conducting using my wife (who is the dean of a college of pharmacy and frequent test proctor), I ask that she make the swap while I'm out of the room and similarly I enter the room from another door without seeing her between the changes.

Hardly is there any potential for her to bias the results. But, it certainly fits the agenda of some to argue otherwise. I think I'm the only one here (TAH included) who participated in taking AJ's "Audiophile Repellent" distortion test. :)
