question regarding ht preamp outputs....

is it harmful to plug analog outputs of a ht processor to a integrated amp? or are the outputs only for connecting to stand alone amp. the reason i want to do this is bec some ht preamps do not have a direct by-pass and even if so there is a loss in sound quality. it is a bit of a pain bec 2 volumes controls must be used and setting on integrated must be remembered. i can drive my main speakers with my integrated amp for ht and can use directly for cd source. - i think my cdp (tjoeb4000 w/upsampler) has a tube buffered analog output and would be wasted if i use digital input of ht pre.
any suggestions always welcome!!!
