General Asylum: jena labs' Esoteric 3-D X cd/scad/dvd treatment system by calloway

....this short quasi-review of this product follows on the tail of quints' great review of a couple of weeks ago.after reading it, i too, being a tweaker.. also..had to find out for myself if the 3-D X was,indeed, as good as quint stated. like quint,i too, had decided that the nanotec 8500 was the best i had tried to date even though i had only had my 8500 for a few weeks it was definitely better then the other disc treatment products i had tried including 'ultra vivid'...audiences' product...'l'art du son'...' shine ola'.....then came quints' review of the jena product...and..not being one to allow a possible improvement tweak to pass me by..i emailed michael crook and talked with him about his product...he,like almost everyone i have talked with in this crazy hobby/addiction...is a very interesting and obviously passionate guy who also seems to be truely nice..he immediately...after 'the next batch is finished'...sent me..what i presumed was the initial marketable product.it arrived within a shiney tin container that held a plastic bottle containing the 3D-X along with many polishing cloths and spongey application pads........for the sake of time i am going to 'cut to the chase'....prior to the arriveal of the 3D-X the nanotec...imo..was superior to the others i had tried...by a pretty fair margin...i had,on hand,2 pairs of 2 of the same cd's..'reference recordings'...and 2 of the same sacd's...rca's living stereo's mussorgsky's reiner.''pictures'....i treated 1 disc of each with the nanotec and 1 with the 3D-X...then sat down for a few hours of listening.....the results were similar to quints' findings in that the 3D-X is superior ..again..imo..to the nanotec..but not by a great deal..what i noticed was a much more expansive presentation to the music with better and quicker transients...like the striking of piano keys being more individually discernable with the 3D-X then the nanotec.imaging seemed to be more stable also possibly being the result of the laser doing its' job more effectively with resultant less jitter...no i am not an engineer..the music is most certainly more enjoyable with this product and i have used most of 1/2 of the bottle to this point redoing my cd/sacd collection. the application could not be easier as the product is only applied to the non-writting side of the disc and the sides...i hope ACME DISC COMPANY doesn't come out with a better product next week and send it to quint....i am keeping this one ...it's a great product.....
