The Threshold and Athena amplifiers were also very comparable in performance. These are all solid state amplifiers presumably using considerable negative feedback and all performing excellently under almost any conceivable real world condition.

Unlike your "famous" designers Peterson and Klaus, one of whom simply a guy who bought some obsolete inventory (!), Nelson Pass has been a prodigious designer of many a truly excellent amplifier for decades. He is the main behind the Threshold and Pass Labs products.

Your affection for making utterly wild ass guesses with no attempt whatsoever to locate the existence of supporting facts makes you such an easy target when you attempt your superiority complex. Threshold amps use ZERO overall feedback. Gross use of negative feedback died when the Berlin Wall fell. That's why my 1981 Threshold Stasis 3 has a DF of 60 and the current Pass Labs XA series, a DF of 30. Not 20,000 like your "I'm all about specifications" Crown amps. LOL!

Consequently, I hereby sentence you to life with a Crown IC-150 and DC-300 driving your AR-9s (cum tweeters of course) through zip cord. You will be given no mercy. You shall forever be banished to the constant torture of colossal amounts of tiresome (unmeasured) distortion. May the gods have pity on you.
