I'm using a simaudio 4070SE, Krell Pam3, cabling Acoutic Zen, speakers are Newformresearch R8-2's.....My sources are Roxan Zerxes, and a RAM moddified tosh3050. I've been listening to a tosh 3990 and am thinking it might be just fine for movies and the occasional cd....Last night I put it on vibrapods and have lost most of its slight sibilance on some vocals.....I would have to say it is better than the 3050 was Before Modding. However it is still pretty darn good. I wonder if upgrading the power cord at a later date would be a benefit. I've decided against the Oppo [which is probably better from what I've read].all things being equal...but I do not use dvd-a or sacd.....so the 3990 is probably staying....thanks for the feedback, lloyd
