I thought I would go and get a Panasonic Sa 25 digital power amp receiver before I mail ordered a Sa 45.
I currently have B&W 801 Matrix Series 2's w/ Van Alstine crossover mod and Better tweeter caps.
I removed the zobel from the woofer , so they dip down to 3.4 ohms.
The little Panny drives the piss out of them !
So far , it isnt quite as good all by itself as my Audire Monoblocks with the Melior Dac , but its amazing just how good it is , especially for the price !
The 801;s can get sloppy in the bass , but not with the Panasonic !
Bas is almost as powerful as the Audire Monoblocks , better then a Sumo Andromeda , and tight.
The Image isnt quite as wide and deep as the Audires , but detail is amazing.
The Panny isnt bright or strident at all , and has a unique ability to let detail through that I have never heard before.
It does all this w/o brightness.
It seems to be missing some emotion on Female voice , but it is only 3 days old , and with stock power cord.
I especially like having the remote control tone controls , although I seldom have used them.
I am very impressed with this receiver , and would reccommend it to anyone looking for good sound for the money.
Has anyone played with this one AND the Sa 45 as well ?
Based on what I am hearing, I plan to order the 45 , and take the 25 back.
It was an open box anyway , and I will buy some Cd's to keep my karma good.
Any comments on these receivers ?
