The Twister is rather expensive and is not a very good design. The addition of a seal around the edge would help, but there are much better clamps out there. I use a Basis Reflex clamp with my Clearau .......

This has been my understanding as well. As an added note, there are a number of newer MC carts which use much stronger magnets thereby allowing a higher output without increasing the amount of wire ( .......

With the Past Wadia products that I've owned the output voltage change instructions weren't part of the manual and had to be sourced directly from Wadia (usually via fax) or from an authorized dealer. .......

Tube are microphonic and you run the risk of the tubes singing along with the bass line. I learned this lesson when I tried to put my tube monoblocks next to my Vandersteen 5As (short speaker cables). .......

Some have had good luck with the NOS GE 6550s, but they are pretty hard to come by (and cost well over $100ea). Another option would be new production KT88s. The SEDs are pretty good and the Gold Lion .......

Do you have cable TV? It's very common for hum to enter the system via the cable line (and slightly less common via satellite). Disconnect your cable/satellite connection and see if the hum goes away. .......

Vandersteen has a CD with the test tones that is calibrated to the Radio Shack SPL meter. I doubt that they'll send one to an individual. Your local Vandersteen dealer might loan one to you... or they .......

From the looks of the photos when the weight is "inverted" the actual mass of the counterweight can get closer to the arm pivot point which will aid in balancing and setting VTF for lightweight cartri .......

Have you gone through the EQ process on the Quatros? You should be able to tame a 10db hump easily using the built-in EQ. I've got a nasty one (+9db at 45Hz) and was able to easily fix it on my 5As. .......

I asked my dealer this question last week and was told 4 - 5 weeks for standard finishes. Custom finishes can be longer depending on the material chosen and its availability. I've opted to have my cab .......

I have one speaker placement requirement in my room and that is that the speakers have to be as close to the front wall as possible. Overall they cannot intrude into the room more than a couple of fee .......

The marks on the pins aren't artifacts of the photo. The coloring on the cantilever bothers me as well. Almost looks like it was heated. I'm not sure if this is a normal part of the manufacturing proc .......
