Try a used Sony SCD-C333ES or 'C555ES. They are great players, both with SACDs and CDs. I have both and find the 'C555ES a bit more detailed (in a good way), but the 'C333ES is still an excellent choi .......

Sound City has good prices on new NAD gear. I bought my NAD amps from them. For example, I paid $325 for the C 350, $600 for the C 370, and $525 for the C 270. All came in sealed boxes. No refurbs her .......

Boston is not a "reference-quality" SACD, but that is probably, at least in part, the fault of the master. That said, I do feel that the SACD bests the CD, which is long overdue for remastering. Also .......

You need to try more SACDs before you can fairly judge the format. I have not heard the Oscar Peterson SACD, so I cannot comment from that angle, but perhaps the 'CE775 simply is not be the right comp .......

For every Sony SACD I own, I have the standard CD. I use the CDs in the car, my Discman, and at the office. In addition, I like comparing SACDs to CDs. Doing so gives me a better appreciation for SACD .......

I had the 'CE775 for about two weeks in the spring and used it in an audio cabinet. In my experience, the unit did not run too warm, and it never shut down on its own. That said, my Sony DVP-C670D DVD .......
